We are a strength training facility, focused on athletic development built over years of results.

Our process of welcoming athletes to our community involves movement screens, and comprehensive evaluations that lead our certified Coaches in designing effective programming and appropriate progressions. We specialize in OFFSZN CAMPS for sport specific athletes taking their potential to the next level. A priority for our Team is identifying our athletes' specific challenges and building their blueprint with the correct tools for success.

OUR VISION

Striving to ascend as Ottawa's premier Athletic Development Facility, Strength House envisions delivering a comprehensive, long-term athletic development program catering to athletes aged 9 to the professional league, setting the standard for excellence.

CAMPS VS. PROGRAMS 

Dedicated to sport-specific training during the OFF-SZN, our camps unite Ottawa's most dedicated athletes, fostering high-level focus and competition. Geared to launch athletes into the SZN with strength and power, our programs like Rookies 101 and High School Athletic Development Program offer a general athletic progression, custom-tailored to each sport, following a protocol akin to our camps. 

ASSESSMENTS

Our assessments encompass a thorough movement screen protocol led by our head coaches, complemented by a physiotherapist's involvement. Employing a three-phase Body Comp assessment, utilizing Calipers, and daily weigh-ins tailored to individual needs, we ensure a holistic understanding of an athlete's physique. Before-and-after transformation pictures provide a visual testament to progress. 

NUTRITION & MINDSET

Prioritizing proper fueling, we educate athletes on performance-oriented nutrition, tracking intake, and encourage post-nutrition adherence. Complemented by an individual Athletic Mindset manual, our athletes stay focused on their goals, fostering a deeper coach-athlete connection. 

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Strength House's philosophy centers on mastering the fundamentals. While not aiming to develop professional weightlifters or powerlifters, we guide athletes through progressions, steadily peaking for their upcoming SZN. 

COACHES

Our dedicated coaches, led by Head Coach Donnie Ruiz, continually update their knowledge to employ the most effective strategies. Weekly meetings delve into new methods and training topics, ensuring an adaptive approach to elevate athletes.

WHAT IS ICEUP?

"At Strength House, 'IceUp' represents more than just a physical workout; it embodies a mindset embraced by athletes of all sports and ages.

This weekly ritual, created by Coach Donnie over 15 years ago, goes beyond building muscle—it forges mental toughness and camaraderie within our community. Athletes push through pain and exhaustion, overcoming challenges that test their limits. 'IceUp' fosters a bond among athletes, uniting them in a shared journey of resilience and determination. Regardless of the sport they pursue or their age, everyone at Strength House embraces the 'IceUp❄️’ mindset, pushing each other to excel and succeed."
